Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 kg Chicken wings
Marinade
- ½ c sweet chilli sauce
- 3 tbs brown sugar
- 5 tbs soy sauce
- 3 tbs rice wine vinegar
- 2 tbs fish sauce
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 1 tb lemongrass paste
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbs butter, melted
Garnish
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 spring onions, sliced – green part only
Directions
- Chicken wings can be prepared either whole or cut.
- Preheat your oven to 210c. Pat dry the chicken wings and season with salt. Spray a baking tray with a little olive oil and place the chicken on the tray.
- Combine all ingredients for the marinade in a bowl. Toss the wings in half of the prepared marinade and place the remainder in a small saucepan. Arrange the wings in a single layer and bake for 15 minutes.
- Heat the remaining marinade to a gentle simmer for approximately 5 minutes or until it thickens slightly.
- Flip the wings and continue cooking for another 10 minutes. Adjust the oven temperature to its highest, baste the wings with some of the glaze , and return to the oven for 5 minutes.
- When the wings are golden brown, remove them from the oven and coat them with the glaze for a second time. Then, sprinkle the wings with spring onions and sesame seeds. Use any leftover glaze for dipping.
